Local Buy has worked collaboratively with the Queensland Public Libraries Association (QPLA) to provide a comprehensive and value-adding contract for all Libraries in Queensland to access as a procurement solution meeting the requirements of Local Government Legislation.

Local Buy has an ongoing agreement with QPLA whereby a quarter of the fees earned from the Library Resources, Furniture and Associated Services contract (BUS 180-1108) are returned to the Association. This arrangement enables the QPLA Committee to continue to undertake professional development and conference events each year, to subsidise attendance for selected Queensland public library staff who would otherwise be unable to attend the events, and to fund the recently announced QPLA Biennial Research Scholarship..

How do I use a Local Buy contract?

Simply contact a supplier on Local Buy’s register of pre-qualified suppliers and quote the contract number BUS 180-1108 on all further communications including your purchase order. If you wish to complete a request for quotation for the completion of a specific project within your library, simply select a minimum for 2 suppliers (recommended minimum) and complete the RFQ template available on the LG Online Website or use your own form quoting the BUS 180-1108 contract number.
